Ingredients
  

• 8 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)

• 4–6 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or American)

• 3–4 tablespoons butter or mayonnaise (softened)

• 1 small tomato (sliced, optional)

• 4 strips cooked bacon (optional)

• 1 small onion (caramelized, optional)

• 1 teaspoon dried herbs or seasoning (optional)

Instructions
 

1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

    2. Spread butter or mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread to help create a crisp texture.

      3. Evenly layer the cheese on the unbuttered side so it melts evenly throughout.

        4. Add optional fillings like tomato, bacon, or onions without overloading the sandwich.

          5. Cover with another slice of bread, keeping the buttered side facing outward.

            6. Arrange sandwiches on the tray with space between them for proper heat circulation.

              7. Bake until golden and crisp, flipping halfway if you want even browning.

                8. Remove from the oven once the cheese has melted and the bread is crispy.

                  9. Let the sandwiches rest briefly, then slice and serve warm.
