Ingredients

• 4 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)

• 4 tablespoons brown sugar or honey

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

• 2 tablespoons butter

• 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans (if desired)

• 2 tbsp raisins or dried cranberries, if desired

• 2 tablespoons oats (optional)

• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

• 1/2 cup water or apple juice

Instructions

1. Wash the apples well, then gently remove the core, keeping the base intact to hold the filling.

    2. Begin by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F) for consistent and even baking.

      3. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, raisins, oats, and vanilla extract until well combined.

        4. Stuff each apple with the prepared mixture, gently pressing it into the center.

          5. Place the apples in a baking dish and add water or juice to the base to keep them moist.

            6. Add a small piece of butter on top of each apple for extra richness.

              7. Bake until the apples are soft and tender, and the tops look slightly golden.

                8. Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm.

                  Notes

                  • Choose firm apples so they hold their shape well and don’t become too soft while baking.
                  • Avoid overbaking, as it can make the apples mushy instead of tender and juicy.
                  • Adjust the sweetness depending on how naturally sweet or tart your apples are.
                  • Cover with foil if the apples start to dry out during baking to retain moisture.
                  • Add a small pinch of salt to balance and enhance the overall flavor.
                  • Serve warm to enjoy the best texture, aroma, and comforting taste.
