Ingredients
  

Cookie Bars

• 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• ½ teaspoon salt

• ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Frosting

• ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

• 2 cups powdered sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream

• Food coloring (optional)

• Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions
 

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

    2. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

      3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Stir in vanilla extract.

        4. Take another bowl and whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

          5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form a soft dough.

            6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

              7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the edges turn lightly golden.

                8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.

                  9. Beat butter for frosting until creamy.

                    10. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla, then mix until well combined.

                      11. Slowly add milk until the frosting becomes smooth and easy to spread.

                        12. Spread frosting evenly over the cooled bars.

                          13. Sprinkle some decorations on top if you want to give the bars a festive touch.

                            14. Slice the bars into neat squares and serve them fresh for everyone to enjoy.

                              • Be careful not to over-bake, as this helps the bars stay soft.
                              • Use room temperature ingredients for smoother mixing.
